Senior Engineer - Engineering Chassis & Safety - Active Safety (m/f/d)
Your main tasks
- Functional responsibility for the active driving safety functions at overall vehicle level (reversing detection, Advanced Emergency Brake Assist (AEBS), Emergency lane-keeping system (ELKS), Emergency stop signal (ESS), Event data recorder (EDR) etc. pp.): Conceptual design, development and validation of the functions in the overall context of product development incl. releases
- Support of system integration incl. definition and development of interfaces between ECUs and platform: from concept status to production readiness
- Function development taking into account legal requirements, functionality and internal requirements from product data level / economic efficiency, incl. validation, documentation and release of software releases
- Supervision, coordination and management of related projects with internal and external resources, partners and suppliers
- Construction, commissioning and support of prototypes and test vehicles for validation, testing and release of the developed vehicle functions
- Execution of documentation, change requests and releases of the corresponding components/assemblies/functions
- Creation of requirements and specifications for the components/assemblies/functions
- Acceptance of the functions at the supplier, as well as supervision of the approval of vehicle functions at the testing services
- Preparation of decision documents
- Close coordination with all internal and external project partners (design pool, supplier, purchasing, quality, homologation, production, etc.)
- Master data maintenance as well as documentation and release of components in the PLM system PTC Windchill
- Reporting of the development progress to the SE team management
Your profile
- Successfully completed studies with focus on mechanical engineering, automotive engineering; software; electronics, or a comparable technical oriented education
- Professional experience with responsibility for components in the automotive environment
- Experience with focus on active vehicle safety (GSR2; FMVSS requirements)
- Experience with focus on ECU development (camera; radar; brake assistant; steering assistant; etc.pp)
- Experience in development according to ISO26262
- Experience with developer tools/systems like JIRA advantageous
- Good knowledge of homologation requirements and consumer protection criteria in the area of active safety
- Good knowledge of MS-Office, Windchill and Integrity (or comparable PLM and requirements management systems)
- Good knowledge of network technologies such as CAN bus and knowledge of using Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.)
- Confident, friendly appearance and a high level of communication and teamwork skills
- Good written and spoken German and English
- High level of self-motivation
