Your main tasks
- Functional responsibility: conceptual design, development and validation of functional assemblies in technical development.
- Concept design of structural components (sheet metal, extruded profiles, deep-drawn parts, welded assemblies and comparable technologies) in PTC Creo
- Implementation of the concept taking into account functionality, manufacturability, quality, requirements (product data level / homologation) and economic efficiency
- Supervision of the components/assemblies/functions from concept status to series production readiness (component responsibility; system responsibility; functional responsibility)
- Ensuring the mechanical and functional integration of the components in the complete vehicle
- Carrying out documentation, component changes (change requests) and approvals of the corresponding components/assemblies/functions
- Drawing up requirements and specifications for the components/assemblies/functions
- Preparation of decision documents
- Communication and coordination with suppliers regarding manufacturability, design and optimisation of components
- Close coordination with all internal and external project partners (design pool, suppliers, purchasing, quality, homologation, production, etc.)
- Master data maintenance as well as documentation and release of components in the PLM system PTC Windchill
- Reporting of the development progress to the technical project management
Your profile
- Successfully completed studies with a focus on mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or comparable technically oriented training
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Work experience with component responsibility in the automotive environment
- Knowledge of structural components (deep-drawn parts, extruded profiles, welded assemblies, etc.)
- Profound knowledge of common CAD and PLM systems, ideally PTC Creo / Windchill
- Confident, friendly manner and a high level of communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility, independent and solution-oriented way of working
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
