e.GO Mobile AG was founded in 2015 by Prof. Dr. Günther Schuh as a manufacturer of electric vehicles. On the RWTH Aachen campus, the 300 employees so far not only benefit from the pioneering project StreetScooter, they also use the unique network of the campus with its research facilities and approx. 360 technology companies. Agile teams are working on various cost-effective and customer-oriented electric vehicles for short-distance traffic. For series production, e.GO Mobile AG is currently putting its new Industrie 4.0 plant in Aachen Rothe Erde into operation.

As an Aachen start-up, e.GO Mobile AG is committed to the Aachen region, particularly with regards to sports. Our company has been a co-sponsor and supporter of Aachen’s volleyball Bundesliga team ‘Ladies in Black‘ since the 2015/2016 season.
The Ladies in Black are one of Aachen’s key icons: Likeable, ambitious and successful – making them a perfect fit for the e.GO Life.
President Macron was awarded the Aachen Charlemagne Prize
French President Emmanuel Macron accepted the Charlemagne Prize in 2018 on the 10th of May 2018. Mayor Marcel Philipp and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Presentation of the International Charlemagne Prize to Aachen, Dr. Jürgen Linden, solemnly handed the award to Emmanuel Macron. Among the numerous guests was also Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The award ceremony, at which Emmanuel Macron was honored for his impulses for the unity of Europe, took place in the Coronation Hall of the Aachen Town Hall. Speaking to the guests, the Charlemagne Prize winner said: "I am looking forward to Europe with great enthusiasm. We share a history and now we need the mutual conversations, discussions and emotions."
