End-of-life vehicle recycling

Sustainability is in our DNA at e.GO. We design our products to be sustainable so that they can be used for a long time.
Within the framework of recyclability, we envision the fullest possible recovery or environmentally compatible disposal of the vehicles after the use phase. This is the prerequisite for efficient recycling of the valuable materials contained by our partners.
Should you one day have to part with your vehicle, you have the option of returning the vehicle within our comprehensive take-back network. We organize a simple and free take-back as well as a legally compliant and environmentally friendly recycling of your vehicle. By returning it, you make a valuable contribution to the reuse of materials and the conservation of all our resources.

Take-back

Since the end-of-life vehicle directive came into effect, you as the last owner of the vehicle have the option of returning your e.GO to us as the manufacturer. Your end-of-life e.GO vehicle must fulfill the following conditions:

  • All essential components such as the powertrain (e-motor, transmission, etc.), battery, chassis, body, or electronic control units are existing in the vehicle.
  • There is no trash in the vehicle.
  • The vehicle is or was registered in a country of the European Union for at least one month prior to decommissioning.
  • The registration documents are handed over with the vehicle.

Please note that you are required by law to hand over your end-of-life vehicle exclusively to a certified collection point, a certified take-back point, or a certified dismantling facility. To deregister your end-of-life vehicle, you need a so-called certificate of destruction, which confirms that your vehicle has been properly disposed of. Only certified, recognized dismantling companies are allowed to issue this certificate.
To make it easy for you to dispose of your end-of-life vehicle, e.GO maintains a nationwide network of collection points that will take back your e.GO free of charge.
